I have to say.. I was pretty sad when this wedding was over. Not only did I love planning all the little details, but I loved spending time with this couple. Teresa and Drew both have the most wonderful personalities and are just those kind of people you want to be friends with. So the fact that they had a seriously swoon worth day, made it all worth while. And we were oh so lucky to have Liz Grogan to capture all of the pretty. Pop open a bottle of Cheerwine and enjoy.. this is one you will definitely want to pin. P.S. Check out their feature on Style Me Pretty!

One of my favorite features of Adaumont Farm is the beautiful porch. I have had many a maid of honor spend the morning rocking in these chairs writing her toast.

Absolutely, hands down, my favorite bouquets ever. Peonies, ferns, ribbons… perfection.

I am always a sucker for a cathedral length veil. Especially down a long aisle full of petals. Swoon!

Today, my friend, Chris, the wonderful sales manager and event coordinator of Willow Oaks Plantation, is sharing her thoughts on the perks of a wedding planner. Willow Oaks is one of my favorite venues and I LOVE working with Chris .. she is so accommodating to our brides!

Being the event coordinator and sales manager at Willow Oaks Plantation, I often get confused as the wedding planner. With every bridal tour, one of my many questions is always, “Do you have a wedding planner?” If they don’t, I let them know I am happy to make a referral. A bride cannot go wrong in hiring a person who will take all of her stress and worries away. As a bride, you will only do this wedding thing once! A wedding planner has event experience and will be able to help with all facets of the wedding. Your wedding planner has contacts with florists, bakeries, rental companies, venues, photographers, videographers, and more. Your wedding planner can take you through all of your pre-planning to the actual day of. Speaking for myself, I have a referral list that consists of two planners…. Leigh is definitely one of them! It is a joy to work with a professional that has a positive attitude, a plan and can execute them eloquently! It sure makes my job easier!

Amanda and Evan had the quintessential Spring Southern wedding featuring a beautiful church ceremony and a reception at a local antebellum home. Guests enjoyed cocktails and fresh lemonade post-ceremony on a large veranda before dining family style and dancing the night away. So how do you get this look? A+E had the most beautiful and fresh Spring color palette with pops of lavender, white, and soft yellow. A classic white cake with detailed piping, fresh blooms in mint julep cups, and sweet ribbon bows are just a few ways that this classic look was brought together. I loved Amanda’s flower hair piece.. it was the perfect way to show her fun personality! What do you think of this look?

Today, my friend, Meghan, the owner of Sweet Meg’s Bakery, is sharing her thoughts on the perks of a wedding planner. I absolutely LOVE working with Meg .. she is so sweet (pun intended!!!!!).

As a small piece of the wedding industry, I’ve come to realize just how much a wedding planner does to prepare a bride for her big day! I’ve had the pleasure of working with several wedding planners throughout the Triad. From a vendors perspective, I love it! There are so many details that come into play when creating someone’s special day that having someone who coordinates all the behind the scene details is extremely helpful! Each planner I’ve worked with has their own unique style to bring everything together. One thing I personally love about Leigh are her story boards! There are so many options just for the wedding cake and Leigh minimizes some of that indecision by choosing several cake concepts that will incorporate well into the overall design. As the baker, you don’t always get to see the complete design plan for the wedding and you just hope that when you deliver the cake, it matches the rest of the decor. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t, but when you work with a wedding planner that is detail oriented, like Leigh, you know your component of the wedding will compliment the design!

Something else I find valuable is the amount of knowledge a wedding planner has. Most people have only experienced planning a wedding once so they don’t know all the ins and outs of the industry. Wedding planners are conscious of contracts, deposits and dead lines. I don’t want to spend a lot of time pestering my brides about getting contracts signed, making sure the balance is paid by the deadline and confirming delivery times. When working with a planner, all of these things are taken care ahead of time and it makes for a much more relaxed day!

Working with a wedding planner seems to eliminate a large part of the stress in a couples wedding day, not only for them but for the vendors as well!
