Today’s pep talk is for me. I am pretty pumped for 2014 but I am also terrified. This year is going to be full of changes both professionally and personally. LPW is growing leaps and bounds and I am having to lay down even more structure and boundaries than ever before. In my personal life, I really need to start paying more attention to myself and taking better care of my mind and body. What better way to hold myself accountable than to tell y’all about my ambitions? These are my 2014 goals:
1. Eat better: Bryan and I both eat terribly. I love to cook so I want to be better about cooking meals and having good, clean food prepared for both of us in advance. I hate taking time to plan out my meals (and fabulous downtown restaurants a stone’s throw away from my office don’t help), but I am determined to make it a priority.
2. Work out: I actually like to exercise, but I never quite remember that I do until I actually start a work out. I am determined to find a work out that I love! The YMCA by my house seems pretty great so I am going for a tour next week.
3. Set clear boundaries: I am in the process of completing a digital book for all new LPW clients. It will not only give them lots of great tips but also let them know our planning process. I plan to layout my office schedule, times and days available for meetings, email answer turn around, etc. My clients are pretty great about my time off but setting these boundaries will help me be more intentional about my time at work and my time at home. I work my hinny off for my brides so I need to feel less guilty about time off. This book will help me do just that.
4. Plan a vacation for just Bryan and I: Bryan and I have been really lucky to go on lots of trips together throughout our relationship. All but one have been with family or friends. I want us to explore, travel, and experience new things together.
5. Take my business to the next level: I am really excited about attending this workshop in Charleston in February. I am really proud of what I have done with my business, but I know it can be so much better. I want to hone my design skills, make my planning and design processes more stream lined, and refine my brand more. For all that I have learned and discovered, there is still so much I don’t know!
6. Buy a car and finish paying off my college loans: I am in the home stretch for paying off my college loans (hallelujah!) but I have also been saving every penny for a new car. I will be sad to part with Lucille, my Accord, but this girl needs an SUV.
This is the first time I have actually wrote them down so I am excited to really see them through. I would really appreciate your encouragement and help holding me accountable. I would love to hear YOUR goals and resolutions for the new year!
