Becki Dickinson Photography | Jackie + Matt’s Downtown Greensboro, NC Wedding

I love a formal ballroom reception. Oversized crystal chandeliers, black tuxes, long flowing dresses.. swoon! I absolutely loved planning with Jackie and Matt. They wanted a traditional wedding with a little bit of a twist. So how do you get this look? Our color palette of black, purple, gold, and crisp white paired perfectly with beautiful white orchids, Southern hydrangeas, and purple calla lilies. Our paper details had a modern yet subtle damask pattern for a fun twist. What do you think of our look?

Be still my heart. Ashton and Brandon’s was the perfect mix of a elegant Southern ballroom and the couple’s love of travel. These two have traveled the world so we played that up in their table names (and included a B&W photo of them in that place!) along with luggage tags for escort cards set around a collection of globes. Pops of exotic orchids balanced perfectly with fluffy hydrangeas, calla lilies, and magnolia leaves for the perfect East meets West look. Jackie and Matt wanted to give their guests a variety of fun things to do: dance to an awesome band, eat a tasty dinner, play in the photo booth, and lastly, enjoy a fresh cigar. I brought in a cigar roller to hand roll cigars for guests. Jackie’s dad was in heaven with this fun detail we came up with and the guests enjoyed a little something different. You can see all their beautiful details (like the hundreds of orchids Farmer’s Wife brought in) over here.

Ashton and Brandon, along with their bridal party, were so fabulous that they literally stopped traffic! This wedding was another one of my favorites. Ashton and I worked so closely together for months on end to make their Southern meets travel-inspired meets traditional church and ballroom wedding happen. Happy 1st anniversary this weekend to Jackie + Matt!

I am so excited to share Jackie and Matt’s wedding day with y’ all! It was a whirl wind day with a 20 person bridal party, 300 out of town guests, and terrible weather. Despite the torrential downpours all day long, everyone was in great spirits and a joy to be around. After a beautiful, traditional church ceremony, everyone headed over to the Empire Room in downtown Greensboro for one heck of a party. Painted Plate served up an amazing dinner then guests danced the night away, enjoyed hand rolled cigars, and cut up in the photo booth. We covered anything standing still with orchids and the room looked beautiful! My favorite moment from the evening would have to be the bridal party introductions. They recreated this intro we saw online and it was FANTASTIC. Second place favorite moment goes to Matt throwing Jackie’s garter into the chandelier. You know it’s going to be a good party when there are undergarments hanging from the ceiling So, enjoy all of Becki’s beautiful images and leave Jackie and Matt some love!
