Southern Weddings V9 Launch Party at The Carolina Inn | Chapel Hill NC Event Planner

When the ladies at Southern Weddings Magazine asked for my help for their V9 launch party, I was beyond happy to oblige! I simply adore the magazine and knew that anything those talented ladies had dreamed up would be amazing. I chatted with Marissa about her initial ideas to create a love letter wall based on the key editorial in the latest issue. From there, we collaborated on this lovely, interactive wall that was such a fun edition to the party!

My dear friend, Anna Paschal Photography, tagged along for the party and I am so grateful for her helping hands. We started with this beautiful white wall from Paisley + Jade and added ribbon then soft blue envelopes with mini white clothespins (no easy feat as many calculations were made for perfect lines!). Next up, Serendipity Designs Raleigh added the final touch – a lush greenery garland and fresh blooms. The result was stunning and is such a great idea to translate into escort cards or a guest book at a real wedding. File that one away, friends!

Jessica of Simply Jessica Marie reached out to me a few days before the party with a top secret surprise for the SW ladies. She had painted this beautiful portrait of them and needed the perfect spot to place it. I knew this sweet little writing desk was the perfect home for her artwork.

The Best Is Yet to Come | NC Wedding Planner

Can you believe it is 2016!? The past year has absolutely flown by and I am stunned to look at my calendar to see we are almost into March. Spring wedding season is quickly approaching — so bring on the peonies and soft color palettes!

If it has been a while since you caught up with me in business or in life, there are several exciting things that have come about in the past year or so. Since we are in the early stages of a new year, I thought what better time than now to sit a spell, say hello, and let you know what I have been up to!

Let’s Socialize: Recently, I have fallen [more] in love with Instagram and Snapchat. I love connecting with clients and my favorite partners by following their work and sharing some of my own! If you do not follow me on these platforms, you can find me at @leighpweddings on both! My Instagram is filled lovely and curated images of my work taken by some of my favorite photographers with a few real time snaps thrown in from wedding days and my adventures. That said, Snapchat is easily becoming my newest addiction. I love sharing behind the scenes of LPW and personal snaps of my life (read: so many snaps of my dogs and my favorite tunes).  You can still find me on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest too!!

Full service, all the way: While I love my former coordination and partial planning clients so much, a full service experience has always been the heart of my business. As of last year, LPW is a full service only company specializing in creating once in a lifetime celebrations with great love. For me, specifically, full service means taking care of every single detail for my wonderful clients from the planning to the event design to the production of the event — I create it all! Another key component to my full service experience is partnering with a curated list of event professionals that really understand the level of service needed for my clientele. I also create a detailed design plan that paints a beautiful picture of what the event will truly look like from floral design to tailored linens to bespoke lighting and everything in between. I love that with this level of service my clients feel really taken care of and to continue that experience, I limit my event schedule to only ten to fifteen events a year.

Bring on the party: Weddings will always be the heart of what I do, but I love creating other types of celebrations as well! From rehearsal dinners to social gatherings to corporate events, this past year has really become a melting pot of different events for myself and the LPW team. You may remember this fabulous Furniture Market launch party featuring none other than Eric Church or this sweet, Southern rehearsal dinner. Producing such a variety of events keeps me inspired and on my toes!

A little wanderlust: Greensboro and the Triad of North Carolina are my home and events here are always so magical. That said, more and more of my clients have looked to other destinations in the South for their celebrations and I am so thankful that they ask me to come along! My map dots so far span across North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia and I hope to expand into South Carolina (I’m looking at you, Charleston), Tennessee, and anywhere else my clients’ hearts take me!

Let’s get married: The most exciting news so far for 2016 is that Bryan and I are getting married! Now that we have decided to tie the knot close to home instead of afar like originally planned, we have officially set the date and are ready to celebrate. I have decided against blogging or posting religiously about the wedding but I do hope to share a few details here and there for those that are interested! Everyone has been so sweet and happy for us and we could not ask for more!

Nice to Meet You! | North Carolina Wedding Planner

If you have moseyed over to this post, it means you want to know a little bit more about me!  I have put together some frequently asked questions about myself and the LPW brand. I would love to get to know YOU! Are you a bride, fellow wedding vendor, or just someone who loves beautiful blooms and happy brides? Either way, I would love to connect and get to know you! Shoot me an email or just say hello on Instagram. I cant wait to hear from you!

1. Why weddings?  In my family growing up, if you behaved well on a trip to the  grocery store, you got to pick out a special treat.  My sister always went for a candy bar.  Me?  I wanted a wedding magazine.  I had stacks and stacks stowed away under my bed. I would cut out different dresses and centerpieces then tape them together like a story board.    I knew from  a young age that I loved beautiful designs.  But, most importantly, I loved the happy smiling people I saw in my magazines.

2. How did you get into the business?  I was almost a Spanish teacher. I started my student teaching and was in a room full of tiny people screaming in Spanish ..  and my heart just was not in it. I had always loved hospitality and working in restaurants so I packed my bags and transferred to UNC-Greensboro. I switched majors, joined the Hospitality and Tourism program and two and a half years, one internship, and a lot of hustle later, I graduated!  I started my journey in events working for a local venue as an event manager and then eventually their wedding coordinator. Leigh Pearce Weddings was born out of a lot of hard work, long nights, sweat, and a few tears. But oh so worth it!

3. What are some of your favorite places you have worked in?  The LPW team and I are based in Greensboro, the heart of NC, and love to travel. The gals and I agree some of our favorites spots we have visited with our dear brides are: Grove Park Inn in Asheville, Duke Chapel in Durham, Graylyn Estate in Winston-Salem, Adaumont Farm in Trinity, Willow Oaks Plantation in Eden, Proximity Hotel in Greensboro, and The Greenbrier in West Virgina. We also all agree that some of our favorite events are hosted at home! Think dreamy tents, lots of twinkle lights, and a million logistics. These events are hard work but the sentiment of being married in a place that means so much to you makes it a favorite!

4. Why Leigh Pearce Weddings and not Leigh Pearce Events?  Simply, I love weddings! I love being able to get to know my clients and their families on a personal level. The care and attention to detail that goes into weddings is what drives me to do what I do. I am also lucky that my clients ask me to plan other wedding related celebrations like engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and bridal showers. Any event that calls for champagne is right up my alley!

5. Name 5 things we don’t know about you.

1) My boyfriend and I are high school sweethearts and have been dating for .. gasp .. 12 years. We have not been in any rush to get married, although I believe the time is drawing near!

2) I am a serious movie buff and will watch anything other than horror movies. My favorites range from Tombstone to The Little Mermaid to Goodfellas. I will also become ridiculously offended if you have not seen Steel Magnolias. My super power is that I can find a way to bring a SM quote into any conversation.

3) I think I might actually have salt water in my veins. I absolutely live for the beach and go at least four times a year. For me, sitting on the shore with my feet in the sand is like recharging this inner battery that I didn’t even know needed charging.

4) Bryan and I have two sweet pound puppies and they are our children. Ellie, our energetic pointer mix, loves to bark at anything with a pulse (or wheels) and can do a million tricks. Jake, our persnickety beagle mix, likes to hog the covers and lay at my feet while I work.

5) My office work day essentials include a giant cup of coffee in my favorite Minnie Mouse mug, Kayne’s College Dropout and Otis Redding shuffling on Spotify, and my favorite Rewined candle.
